Bight Oil Drilling is about the offshore drilling proposal that could be affecting the southern coast of Australia. This social good project is based on informing young Australian citizens (of voting age) of what could happen along their southern coast if oil drilling in the reefs were to occur. 

Featured above is the campaign logo as well as the colors and font used. The logo is the continent of Australia with blue representing water, while black represents the oil. I thought this was a cool idea since oil floats above water. The Arial Black font is used in white for strong contrast against its dark back.

For my first graphic I did one based on a species of sea turtles only found in Australia, the flatback sea turtle. For this I wanted to show oil dripping off of him. Using a mix of oil pictures, as well as brushs. I painted oil on the turtle itself in the picture.

This is a personal favorite of mine. This I have nicknamed Reef; it shows the progression of oil contamination on this beautiful colorful fish. I really liked the idea of showing progression, and while making this piece it reminded me of a mural. As such I decided to add it upon a white brick wall to make it feel like something on the side of the building. I masked the original image, and then duplicated to make the multiple parts. Then free brushed on some oil.

For the lionfish I wanted him to look fierce, but cover that up with the oil as well. I think this piece was very fun to make. Again I painted in some colors using the brushes available to make the lionfish look truly oily. 

I made some instagram mockups for my project to reach a wider group. Based upon the originals seen above these brought those pictures to your phone. I think a social media campaign would be important as trying to reach younger voters almost all will have a social media presence. These post could help inform them more on the situation.
